She Still Creates!

I had to make something for a very special little girl who had a very special party the other day. I made a “St Therese Quilt” with all of the lovely rose fabrics.....I just randomly put this together.  I am really happy with how it turned out. Sewing has taken the back seat for several, several months to writing poetry, reading good literature, and my all time favorite, knitting. BUT.....I do enjoy what comes out of sewing. I especially love fabric and all of the colors.

I am still Here!!!

So sorry, if I have any readers left.....like, “Hi MOM!!”

I have been so busy, that sounds really lame, everyone is busy, but dang it, I am BUSY!!! We have had a lot of fun stuff and not so fun stuff.....but nothing that is huge, big, scary-- surgeries, constant ER trips....just a few ER trips, and just a few outpatient surgeries. Everyone is doing well.
Here are a few catch ups...

My oldest won a full tuition scholarship to a local Catholic college. WOW! Deo Gratias for that one. This is not from some amazing feat of mine in homeschooling......this is all God. I can’t take credit for this at all. Sam has worked so hard, and loves academics, he is very self-motivated.  I am so proud of him, and can’t wait to see what God has in store for him.

Now, we start the whole college process again with my second oldest. He is looking both far and wide, so we get to look at colleges for the next several months and start the application process as well. He should get his SAT back in a few weeks, eager to see how he did.

The younger three are getting back in touch with the great outdoors. We have had a lot more outside time, with parks and such. On Mother’s Day, we visited a state park that was fabulous! We had a great time hiking, especially Lily, who rode on the shoulders of her older brothers and father for the most part. What a life! We all came home utterly exhausted, except Lily.....who announced she had her energy back after such a “long day” and was ready to play outside, “Come on someone, play with me outside!”

We have a fun summer ahead, lots of trip to state parks, camping, and enjoying life. I am trying to keep school to a minimum this summer. We need a break, and some time to relax after a pretty hectic few months....years....

I am reading so much lately. I finished “Kristin Lavransdatter” by Sigrid Undset. I can’t recommend this book enough. It is over 1,000 pages. Don’t faint. It is so worth it!! I have also really been focusing on Flannery O’Connor for the last year. What a powerhouse. I have also been writing poetry. One day, I hope to get them beyond the little scraps of paper in a file and organize them to be published at some point.

I hope you all are well and enjoying our beautiful Spring!
